Responsible Counterparty Verification in Mineral Trade

A risk-control guide for screening sellers, buyers, licence holders, representatives and investment counterparties.

Controlled GMZ verification workflow. Submit only the identity, company, authority, licence or transaction documents specifically requested for review. Never submit passwords, card numbers, PINs, one-time security codes, online-banking credentials, government-portal credentials or crypto recovery phrases. Verification does not constitute government approval, licence validation or investment endorsement.

Verification is not a single document

Counterparty review combines identity, company status, beneficial ownership, authority, licence or product rights, sanctions and compliance considerations, technical evidence and commercial capacity.

Warning signs

  • Unverifiable mandates or rapidly changing representatives
  • Refusal to identify the legal contracting entity
  • Assays or licences without traceable source documents
  • Pressure for advance fees outside written terms
  • Inconsistent product, quantity, location or price information
  • Requests to bypass banking, customs or compliance procedures

GMI may coordinate preliminary review and protected introductions, but legal, technical, financial and compliance due diligence remains the responsibility of the parties and their qualified advisers.
